Berlin Bio Innovation Day: Advancing Collaboration and Innovation in Life Sciences

Sep 23, 2025

On September 23rd, the Berlin Bio Innovation Day, organized by Nucleate Germany in collaboration with CLIC, brought together more than 250 participants from the Biotech and TechBio ecosystem, including founders, investors, legal and regulatory experts, and policymakers. The event offered a unique platform for knowledge exchange and networking, highlighting Berlin’s role as a hub for life sciences innovation.

The day began with a founder bootcamp, providing start-ups with tailored guidance from legal specialists and opportunities for individual consultations with venture capitalists. Beyond the structured sessions, the event created a welcoming and collaborative environment, allowing participants to establish meaningful connections across the Berlin ecosystem.

Afternoon sessions focused on ecosystem development, strategic insights, and regulatory considerations. Johannes Fruehauf (BioLabs & Mission BioCapital) emphasized the importance of robust ecosystems in supporting scientific and entrepreneurial progress. Manuel Grossmann (Amino Collective) offered a perspective on macroeconomic factors influencing the life sciences sector. A panel moderated by Ruth R. Shah, featuring Laura Möller, Maria-Isabel Rojas, and Andreas Hüser, discussed the potential impact of regulatory frameworks on start-up growth and innovation in Europe.

The highlight of the day was the start-up pitches, where Blueprint Biomed was represented by our CEO Aaron Herrera, presenting the company’s approach to advancing bone regeneration. Aaron also serves as Co-Managing Director at Nucleate Germany, demonstrating the integration of scientific innovation, entrepreneurial leadership, and ecosystem development. Other participants included Fusix Biotech, MyImmune, Arvalus Therapeutics, QuantiLight, Akasi Pharma, COLIPI, Green Elephant Biotech, Panosome, nawu diagnostics, ICHORtec, and Captain T Cell.

The Berlin Bio Innovation Day highlighted the value of collaboration and cross-sector engagement in advancing innovation and strengthening the life sciences ecosystem. Blueprint Biomed extends its appreciation to Nucleate Germany, CLIC, and partners Bayer Co.Lab, VOSSIUS, Nawah Scientific, Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH, and Scitaris for their support in delivering an impactful and high-quality event.
