Blueprint Biomed team secures 1.2 M in EXIST Research - Funding for project "BoneGuide"

May 1, 2024

The team behind Blueprint Biomed has secured €1.2 million in funding through the EXIST Transfer of Research program for its project BoneGuide. This funding marks an important milestone toward the establishment of the spin-off and the future market introduction of an innovative bone regeneration technology.

The application process extended over the past year and included the preparation of a detailed business model as well as the presentation of the project before the EXIST jury at the Project Management Agency Jülich (PtJ) in Berlin. The successful outcome confirms both the scientific excellence and the commercial potential of BoneGuide.

The EXIST Transfer of Research program, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) and co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF), supports research-based start-ups with complex and high-risk development projects. The program provides substantial financial resources and entrepreneurial guidance to help bridge the gap between academic research and market-ready products.

With the secured funding, the BoneGuide project will advance the development of a market-ready prototype, while at the same time laying the foundation for the spin-off Blueprint Biomed. In the next phase, the team will focus on product development, business model validation, and expanding collaborations within the healthcare and start-up ecosystem. This achievement represents a decisive step in transforming cutting-edge research into tangible solutions that can improve patient care and shape the future of regenerative medicine.
